You might try a frog kick, that gets the feet closer to your CG and perhaps will be enough to get you neutral in the water.

Me too. The OMS Slipstreams are nearly the same design as Jets but much lighter, almost neutrally buoyant.

Yes they are buoyant... I was on a dive one time with my buddy and his wife. Both of them dive with Twin Jets and his wife lost a fin at about 30ft and up it went... I am not sure how buoyant they are, but they are certainly buoyant...

I'll add my .02 for the OMS slipstream for those who can't use the jets due to heavy feet. Also great for traveling since they weight so much less.

Split fins do not work for a frog kick- hence they are dead to me!

Scubapro jetfins are hands-down the greatest fins ever made, I'll never use anything else so long as I live
IMHO

I think he's referring to the regular jet fins, not the twin jets.

They are a heavy fin, being solid rubber. This is lousy for travel, and lousy for people who have trouble with their feet sinking when they're trying to stay level. OTOH, it's fabulous for people who are "head heavy" and need help the other way, and similarly, often are good for drysuit divers who benefit from a little stabilization (without the need for ankle weights) to avoid going feet-first.

I really like mine. My favorite fin for 90% of my diving.

The black twin jets ar negative. There are much better splits out there than the scubapro. Apollo being the best. They are all rubber however and negative. The Atomic Smokes are the second best IMO and they are positive.

If no one will let you try the atomics before buying, I will send you my pair. They should fit you. You may have to adjust the spring out one click.
(Yes the Atomics have adjustable springs).
Just remember to get them back to me.

Oh and Mark, be careful mentioning certain places that you dive a BPW w/split fins. Some people will give you a ration of ****. But screw them. It is about what works for you.

Just kidding about telling people you use splits. Like I said screw them.

I've tried that, but if I bend at the knees, I'm still leg heavy. As long as I'm kicking, I'm ok, but if I relax, the legs go down.

Haha! I really don't care what anybody thinks about me, I just want to get my trim worked out. That's a most generous offer, and one upon which I'll take you up! PM sent.

If you like jets you should checkout the OMS slipstream. Exact copy but made of lighter material.

mm2002 my buddy will be at TR with me that week after the 4th. If he is diving a DS he probably will not be using his fins and I am sure he would let you use them if they fit you. He has kind of small feet though...
