Aqualung Slingshot fins

Anybody got a pair of these who can tell me what there like? I would be using them for heavy duty diving in strong current at least 3 times a day every day. Also can they be "bent backwards" to go up steps and walk about a boat on?

I have a set. If you set them on the strongest setting, then I think you'll get the performance you want. They can't be bent backwards. But I think that's a good thing.

I also have a pair, theyre great but the easiest setting of the 3 will get you nowhere fast - and yes, you can actually change the setting when youre in the water, its a little bit difficult but then again I dive in New England....

Do these fins actually do as they say in giving you additional thrust or is that just BS?

To be honest I feel that they do give a little extra boost if you put them on the highest setting. I think that the only real advantage to these fins is that you can choose if you want to use 'stiff' fins or 'floppy' fins just by pulling on a cord - it is a huge plus when you are diving on the easiest setting and then realize there are lobster everywhere so you set it up on the fast setting and then go after all those tasty bugs. Thats just my opinion on the fins though

I have yet to see these in action aside from the AL website...it seems like there are a lot of different ideas for the best fin...I would try them if I could get my hands on some.

Can't speak about the thrust, but geez are these things HUGE. Definately wouldn't want to be traveling with these.

I have no right to comment since I haven't tried these fins, but I will anyway While I'm sure they may be powerful on the right "setting" - if power is your concern you could just buy a pair of powerful fins that are less complicated and expensive.

It seems to me most people have a preference for stiffer or floppier fins, so there would probably be one setting they liked the feel of best and stuck with. At least I could see myself doing that, I know I don't like the feel of floppy fins so I'd likely set it on the stiffest and never change it, just modify my kick to do what I needed as usual. Maybe they would be good if you haven't made up your mind yet!
