I have a set. If you set them on the strongest setting, then I think you'll get the performance you want. They can't be bent backwards. But I think that's a good thing.

To be honest I feel that they do give a little extra boost if you put them on the highest setting. I think that the only real advantage to these fins is that you can choose if you want to use 'stiff' fins or 'floppy' fins just by pulling on a cord - it is a huge plus when you are diving on the easiest setting and then realize there are lobster everywhere so you set it up on the fast setting and then go after all those tasty bugs. Thats just my opinion on the fins though

I have no right to comment since I haven't tried these fins, but I will anyway
While I'm sure they may be powerful on the right "setting" - if power is your concern you could just buy a pair of powerful fins that are less complicated and expensive. It seems to me most people have a preference for stiffer or floppier fins, so there would probably be one setting they liked the feel of best and stuck with. At least I could see myself doing that, I know I don't like the feel of floppy fins so I'd likely set it on the stiffest and never change it, just modify my kick to do what I needed as usual. Maybe they would be good if you haven't made up your mind yet! |
