apollo bio-fins colors

A lot was said about the bio-fin, enough to convince me to get a pair for my self
The issue now is which color. I understand that the color diiference means a different "hardness" level, but is that really something one can feel?
I was thinking on getting a yellow pair, for better visibility underwater, or maybe a blue pair. Anyone has any knowledge of that.

Also, How good are the spring straps compared to the regular straps? worth the extra 50$?

same here, yellow with SS. I am not sure that you will notice that much difference in the durometer of the rubber.

I will say this about the yellow ones, there will be no confusion on where you are located in the water. Gone are the days when the guide can't see me even in the cloudy conditions.

Another nice thing about the SS, they purposely fit very snug on the feet. I have small feet and that big pocket works very well for me as there is "O" movement in my pocket, YMMV of course.

Just make very sure that you watch for rust on the screws that are on the sides of the SS, the have a tendency to rust on the sides. Rinse them well....

Enjoy them....they are a very good fin...

How'bout the hot pink? I saw pink is available now.

Once you use the spring strap, you don't want to use anything else.

I don't think it was by design, but the colors are slightly stiffer. I would go for the white. Very visible and not yellow.

From the Apollo site:

Bio-fin pro in Black is produced with a 65 hardness. We consider this the optimum flexibility level. It will provide the least amount of strain on your body, highest speeds, and lowest rate of air consumption. This is the best choice for anyone and particularly for those that need to sustain high speeds for a long period or have foot, ankle, knee, or other leg pain concerns.
Bio-fin pros in Metallic Blue, Metallic Pink, Yellow, and White have a hardness level that varies between 66 - 70. The hardness level is a result of adding color and not specifically to change the feel or performance. The performance of these two color options is very close to that of Black. Yellow does have a hardness level closer to 70 and out of the water it does feel just a touch more rigid. Some people prefer the Yellow option because the slight increase in hardness level means they can feel it a little when kicking. However, unless you are doing lots, and lots of testing it is unlikely that you would notice the difference between Black, Metallic Blue, Metallic Pink, or Yellow. It's really just a color thing!

As for the straps, I would rather add my own. This way if you ever choose to sell the fins, you can offer the original adjustable straps.
