I first bought a Mares X-vision and it constantly leaked on me. I took my dive buddies Oceanic Shadow to Belize and Cozumel. The only time it leaked was when I saw my first shark. I was grinning from ear to ear. I have a fat face, I guess the Mares I had wasn't going to work with it. The Shadow worked great. You will just need to keep trying different ones on until you get one that works. Steal your buddies, I'm sure tey won't mind.

Fit is everything. Sounds like your current mask doesn't fit well.

A mask is something that really has to be tried on in person until you find a model that fits. Someone in a good shop (such as ScubaToys) should be able to help you find the one that fits. If you bought your mask from ST, on the other hand, I'd take it back and see if they'll exchange it for one that does.

Just keep trying new ones until you get the one thats right for you. it took me 5 or 6 to get the one that doesn't leak on me. you could also try some mask sealant as well to make a better seal around your face.

I get a pretty bad leak in my mask as well, but since I popped for Rx lenses I can't afford to get another one right now.

I think it's common to have small leaks because if you smile your cheeks will form a line that the mask can't seal, but major flooding should not be common.

<DIV>I can do an entire dive of about an hour without clearing my mask once unless I smile, then it's flood city. I've tried many masks and none seem to stop that flood when I smile. Oh how I've tried to find a fix.</DIV>
