Prescription Goggles for snorkeling
Hi all!
I am doing snorkeling on the first of July and need some help. Typically when I snorkeled in the past I just wore my contacts, but I no longer use contacts. I have looked into buying prescription goggles and have run into a problem. I have -6.75 eyesight and cannot seem to find any place that offers -6.75 lenses for goggles. If anyone has any suggestions I would greatly appreciate it. Or, would it be a significant difference to my vision if I ordered the available -6.50 or -7? Also, I am down to crunch time. So sending in goggles to be fitted for lenses is not really practical at this point. I would greatly appreciate any feedback you all can give. Thanks so much!! PS: I hope this is the appropriate forum! Sorry if it is not. |

If you don't have an astigmatism, the drop in lenses of 6.5 or 7 will either work fine. We have had better luck always going up to the higher one... so the 7 in this case - but either should work fine.
If you have an astigmatism also, then it may help some... but not cure it. |

I got my mask from scubatoys--the prescription lenses go to -7.0, but as magnification increases by about 25% underwater, you should be fine.
