I'm looking for fins that float for under $150. I currently use Aeris Velocity fins (hybrids) which cause my feet to sink. I'm willing to look at hybrids, paddles, or split fins. I'm concerned about splits, because I understand they don't frog-kick very well.
//This thread is not about techniques to prevent sinking feet. That has already been in multiple threads in multiple forums. A friend recommended these: - Mares has a model called Volo Power that's lightweight and yet features flexible ribs for thrust. - Seac Sub has a similar lightweight model called Propulsion (the 4x4 sub-model has spring straps while the standard model has regular buckles). - And SeaQuest has a model called Thruster with the flexible part in the middle rather than as channels, but it's still mostly plastic I checked the Volo Power. They've been replaced by a fin that ScubaToys discontinued carrying because of quality problems. I also googled the others; the Seac-Sub fins are not available in the US. The SeaQuest might do the job, if I can find them. They are on the inexpensive side, though.

I have Tusa Zooms that are neutral to slightly positive in saltwater, but negative in fresh water...
I have Atomic Splits that are positive in saltwater, but not taking them in the pool to find out how they are in freshwater... Never thought I'd admit it, but my primary kick is the frog kick, with both the Zooms and the Atomics... I can turn in place (helicopter), and even back up in the Atomics... can back up a little in the Zooms, but its not easy - the Atomics make it relatively easy... Definitely not Biofins, and definitely gonna have to leave off the spring straps... Also, Mares Raptors are negative in saltwater, quite negative with spring straps...
