Corrective lenses or contacts

For those who need to correct their vision; I'm curious to know whether people dive with corrective lenses in their masks or if they just wear contact lenses when they dive.

contacts is the way to go - cheap to instsall and remove and you can have plenty of spare ones. you can lend your mask to your buddy in case his/hers is damaged, assuming you have another one.

I use the stick on magnifiers in my mask. I don't wear contacts and the stick on magnifiers are cheaper then a prescription mask.

I've never had a problem with my contacts and it's easier to get your gear on without having to wear your mask to find everything...

If you are near-sighted like I am & the big 50 approaches, you may get to the point where gauge-reading is difficult. My solution is drop-in prescription lenses in a 4-lens mask with uncorrected lower ports.

I decided to get contacts after I started diving!
I don't wear them around much, maybe once a week -- but I always wear them when I dive, and haven't had a single problem with them.

I wear my contacts...

Funny enough, I lost a contact in my OW training (a certain someone was causing waves during the 200 qual swim). I just kept my eye closed until we hit the water. Didn't really notice a difference in the water. and my eye-sight is most likely worse than most here.

Actually that reminds me that if you vision isn't too bad; you can wear just one lens and see far with the lens and see you SPG with the other eye. I'll have to try that one, although I hate it on land perhaps with the water maginfication it will be OK.

Contacts, I wish to see 100% with the mask on or off, not to have to go digging for glasses as soon as the mask is off.
