fins with negative buoyancy

husband just finished PPB specialty and DM suggested he change fins to ones that were negatively buoyant-big difference when he borrowed ones from DM-any suggestions on brands? ones he used were scubapro twin jets-they look like dinosaur feet! hoping there are others that have same neg buoyancy with better look

The Scuba Pro Jets are negative, as are the Hollis fins. They're stiff paddle fins, though, not splits, and do better with a frog than a flutter kick.

Most fins are negative. (I do better with neutral or slightly positive).

Apollo fins are about as negative as the jets. All rubber.

Force fins are a special fin. I would stay with a traditional paddle (not necessarily Jets), unless he learns FF or splits are for him. And while I agree, you need to look cool diving, if it works, it does not matter.

For paddle fins, I agree with the recommendations for Jets, Turtles or the Hollis F1's. (The Hollis ones may be best to start looking at)

For Split fins, the Apollo Bio Fins are quite negative. And I'm selling a pair, if the size is right...

See this thread for a chart of fins that float vs. sink: Which Fins Float?

I have a pare of FF originals. Slightly Negative. With 1 set inserts~nuetral. 2 sets of inserts positive. Salt water a tad more floaty. Above is in my rinse tank.

I don't know Mike, but sometimes FF fans just bark out Force fins, LOL. As do fans of Jet Fins.

Both my sets are negative, and I don't run inserts. Not lead negative, but I'd have to dive to recover them.

**edit: BTW, jet fins had already been mentioned.
