Neoprene Socks?

Anyone use neoprene socks with your boots?
Or do you wear just the boots with nothing underneath?

We're thinking about trying neoprene socks as an extra layer for our 5mm boots for cooler water dives.

Well, I have 2 or 3mm neoprene sock style booties. Does that count?

Neoprene booties and that's all, never had any blisters...but my fins aren't very heavy.

I wear cotton ankle high socks in the summer and warmer weather/water with my boots, works great. I the winter I go to a neo. bootie that I wear with my dry suit boots for warmth and comfort (my ds shoes are attached to the legs).

I've used them for the past few years over winter, they were custom made, about 2mm and calf high, worked well to start with but my feet still got too cold this year so just moved to a drysuit. Just remember you may need a larger pair of booties to go over the neoprene socks.

Good fitting 5mm booties should work in most conditions. I have 7mm O'Neill booties for 46-52F Pacific Ocean, but I would also be comfortable in 5mm. I use Argos 4mm socks for freediving with fullfoot pocket fins.

My son and I both wear full foot fins, so to decrease the chance of blisters, we wear lycra socks

i use neoprene socks under my booties when im on an a dive holiday .
i find that after a week or so of diving multiple dives i used to end up with rub marks on my feet ,
the socks helped to protect my feet and stop rubbing and raw skin .

i also use them when wetsuit diving in temprate water , anything for that added warmth is good

Regards
Matty

Ditto. Raw spots suck, and after a hard week of 4-5 dives per day, shore diving with lots of sand, they're inevitable if precautions aren't taken.
