HUD Mask

Has anyone seen this? A little pricey but a great idea - maybe when it gets down to under 500....

Well.. that ain't gonna' happen!!

Heck, it has a full hoseless nitrox computer built in. That is over $500 for a plain ole' wrist unit!

But this thing is cool. We were the first dive shop in the country to go dive them in Cozumel - took about 20 folks down to try them out - amazing!

You never have to worry about looking at consoles, wrist, etc... It's just always there. Unbelievable for night dives or photographers. Lets you concentrate on your dive - and not your info.

I will admit it is a kinda' expensive toy... but it's cool!

And we just got them in and shipping now!

For those of us with a little grey hair that require cheaters, can we read this?

It has a little screen on the bottom right corner of the mask. You just glance down a bit - and there is the data... depth, allowable time, air, etc.

Push a button and you get even more stuff.. max depth, blah, blah. Just like any of their computers - all the data you need - but it's right there. It uses this very advanced split beam technology so even though the actual display is a fraction of an inch, and just about an inch from your eye... even me who needs to wear reading glasses to read anything smaller than a billboard can see it no problem.

By the time it goes through the bouncing off these internal special mirrors, it translates to have the appearance of about 3 inch numbers 18 inches from your face.

I was blown away by how easy - out of the way, but yet readily accessible the data was.

We got them in the shop if anyone is in the area, wants to try one in the pool or out at the lake, and then give a report!

I would be interested in the report! :-) Seems great, the only thing I would miss is being able to do my dive planning between dives. Might be a little difficult with this.

Planning dives?! I've heard about that... Can't seem to remember... uh... I plan lunch after the dive... hmmm... but planning the dive itself. Huh!?

Just kidding... (not really - I don't do much planning... but a little.)

And it's not a problem... Just toss it on your face for a minute and you can do any planning you want.

yummm lunch! I like the mask, I like the idea. By the time I need a new CPU and mask I am sure version 2 will be out and that will be in color, or something cooler! :-)

No... It's 1500 for a computer and transmitter.. the mask is free!

That's like "68,000 for a GPS unit?!" Well, it includes a Lexus.
