Snorkeling...scuba fins

Gotta quick question. I will be snorkeling on an upcoming cruise in Grand Cayman. I want to use my scuba fins but can I wear them without the booties?

It's on the first day of the cruise so I don't want to end up getting blisters from the rubber rubbing on my feet.

you will NOT be happy wearing open heel fins without boots...

at the same time, most scuba fins do not make good snorkeling fins... the best snorkeling fins I have found are just the plain cheapie all rubber full footers... on the surface, they work a whole lot better without dive gear on...

I totally agree with Mits. Buy a $20 pair at Walmart and save your feet the agony.

but have to disagree with this ... it depends on the fins. I actually used Apollo Bio fins for a number of years snorkeling and they were great. I purposely researched fins because I'd had knee surgery and needed something that provided low stress. When I took up diving, I already had a great pair of fins.

Rednose - my suggestion would be, if you like your dive fins, take them and the booties with you ....

I have tried a lot of fins both snorkeling and diving...

by far, my favorite snorkeling fin is these guys: Deep Blue Gear | Snorkeling Gear | Mask | Snorkels | Fins etc...

they are super cheap, very soft, and very fast...

they are not great for diving....

Here is my cheapskate suggestion. Sams Club has a body glove set (purge mask- fins- dry snorkel) The fins and snorkel are great for snorkeling. The mask really isn't too bad either. Plus you should only be out $20 bucks or so.

Agree. These are the best...confortable and light. POtrherwise buy the light booties from walmart or someplace with mesh on top for cheap and use with the scuba fins.
