spring straps and changes btwn 7mm boots and 3mm boots

This may sound like a stupid question but bear with me...I am a newbie using spring straps and loving them with 7mm boots. I have purchased 3mm boots for a trip south. My feet were WAAY to hot on the last trip south.
My question: will this make a difference in the fit of spring straps? I don't want to chance losing my favourite fins! I have tried them on with the 3mm boots and they seem secure but have not been at depth with them and won't be prior to our trip in Feb. Any one with experience on this issue/concern?

Unless the straps were not snug on the 7mm they should be just fine with your 3mm. If they are tight on the surface theyll be just fine down under.

Thanks Will! They are secure with my 7mm and I can now stop worrying about the transition.

Even if they were too loose, ive seen people take some neoprene or even a shirt and tightly wrap and ziptie it to the back of the spring to give a little tighter fit - works in a squeeze - so dont worry about it!

There shouldn't be a problem. One solution that I have seen used was to glue tubing to the tube that is already there. Or if you can get the straps off and a bigger diameter of tubing on then that would be the best bet.
