If you're like me and a bit of a klutz, spring straps are the only way to go. Putting fins on and off without springs was the worst part of my dive!!!! My SO used to have to help me.... ugh, horrible and embarassing.

Spring straps are one of those things that just doesn't look terribly useful until you try them. Once you try them, you will not go back to using the normal rubber straps. They just make everything so much simpler and they rarely fail, especially when compared to the normal rubber fin straps. I have the XS Scuba straps because that's what ScubaToys stocks, they've been great.

I look at the spring straps the same way as I did the microwave when it first came out. (I guess I am showing my age here). I figured who needs a microwave; I have a stove. Well now that I have a microwave, I will not live without one. Spring straps are the same way; you don’t know what you are missing until you tried them. A different analogy for the younger crowd would be Tivo/DVR. Now that you have it, you don’t want to go back to the previous way.<?:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comfficeffice" />

Spring Straps are awesome and much easier to don and doff! I have used xs scuba SS and I hate them because they are too loose. So I decided to go homemade routine. I used ss screw anchor shackles andss springs to set up spring straps on my Apollo biofins - fits very well! This won't work for your SP twinjets but you can go similar idea as this.

I'm gonna get 'em this year, just helped my friend buy some equipment and they look real functional. I'd hate to snap a strap, knock on wood.

You mean snap a spring strap? It's possible to break anything, but I can only recall reading of one freak incident where someone broke a spring strap. They're pretty much 99.9% reliable.

I agree. I bought the Apollo Bio's with the spring stap and will never go back to regular staps. Thay are really heavy duty, I can't imagine one snaping very easily. Well worth the money

Love spring straps and I always add their cost into any new fins I decide to get. Wouldn't be the same without em!

As far as breaking them, unlikely, but if you have a pocket just carry around some zip ties for a great quick-fix underwater.

I agree, I have the mares ABS buckles and i absolutely hate them. Especially after sunday when one of them somehow popped backwards and i had to spend 20 mintues turning it around trying not to break it. I'm waiting for my spring straps to come in. I ordered the innovative scuba ones ebcause they were the cheapest.
