Are spring straps better than the normal ones that come with the fin?
<DIV>I'm using Scubapro Twin Jets.

<DIV>If so, which brands and does it have to match the size of the fins?</DIV>

Spring straps are easy on/easy off. I've got the Mares ABS system on my straps and find them to be a PITA. Spring straps are going to be my next purchase.

Not sure if you've read this: http://www.scubatoys.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=399

If you haven't, there's quite a bit of info about spring straps

I have them on my bio fins and will own nothing but them from this time on. Everyone recommended them before I got mine so I thought I would give them a tryand I am glad I did.

I have Halcyon spring straps on my Jet fins and I love them. There are alot of brands that make great spring straps. Any "pin style" strap will fit your Twin Jets. I like the XS Scuba straps that ST carries.

As for the size, it doesn't need to match the size of your fin. You need to put your bootie and fin on and measure the distance around your heel from pin to pin. Then find a strap that is 0.5-1.5 inches shorter.

Spring straps are well worth the money. Especially on a pitching dive boat. EZ on, EZ off. Also the added durability over the rubber straps is a plus.

I use Appollo Bio fins, I had them for a year without springs but
once I got them I will NEVER buy another set of fins without them.

Go-Go spring straps!

Love them.

Lots of options at price points all over the map. I've had great luck with the simple, inexpensive $35 EZ Spring Straps. I use them on my Jet fins. My Bio-Fins came with factory spring straps.
