Slipstreams vs split fin

Im looking into getting a pair of fins and I have my eyes on the OMS Slipstreams with spring straps. I have heavy feet in the water and from what ive heard the slipstreams are neutrally buoyant. Would splits fins be better to purchase? I also have a pair 12 Pinnacle 7mil hard sole boots, what size slipstreams or other fins would I need?
