Full foot fin choices

I started off with Plana Avantis back in the late '80s then switched to atomic splits (LOVE THEM) about 6 years ago. Am looking into getting a pair of full foots so I don't have to bring boots with me when I travel to warm water.

I've been looking at both the Mares Volo and their Superchannels but have heard good things about the Tusa X-Perts. I tried the atomic split full foots but was unable to get a good fit with them.

Appreciate any feedback!!

If you are into the splits might want to try the Apollo Bio Fins - they make a full foot version

I wear a women's size 8 and the biofin foot pockets are way too large. :-(

He's seriously looking @ full foots...

...everywhere we go, it seems the divemasters wear them. What are the disadvantages (other than not being able to do shore entry-type diving?)
THX for the help!

For traveling purposes, if diving tropical, you don't need to bring your boots with you... Also, some of the full foots are a little shorter which helps with packing and weight.

Shore diving most usually equals rocky entry. With full foot fins, you can't wear boots so you are barefoot until you get in the water & can put your fins on. I learn the hard way on my cert dives...ouch!

While you can't wear boots with heavy soles, you can buy boots that will fit in a full foot with a very light sole. Depending on where you plan on shore diving, you might be just fine. I'm not big on shore diving (unless I have a sherpa to carry everything for me until I'm waist deep)! :-)
