Mask Problem, Need Recommendations!
Ok so went and tried on some hoods yesterday and found out that the hood was pushing the mask down on the bridge of my nose (made it hurt quite a bit) yes I have a big nose but while I was there at Divers Direct I tried on several different masks which all had this problems to some various degree can anyone reccomend a certain mask to try that may eliminate this problem?

If you find a mask that does not leak maybe you could trim the hood to take the pressure off the mask? Unless its a special hood I think trimming it might be an option...I have a henderson that the lds told me I cold trim if need be. Just my .02. Good Luck.

There are at least two masks that are specifically made for people with larger noses. Tilos makes one (the "Boom"), and I think Tusa makes one? There could very well be others, too.
Trimming down the hood is a viable option as well. |

Trim the hood, but be weary of any stitching! You want to avoid cutting into the stitching cause this will basically make the hood eventually fall appart! If you can trim, without touching any stitching, go for it. If not, you'll need to find a way to stabilise any stitching you cut through (get your your needle and thread).
Hope this helps! |
