Tusa or Mares mask?

Which mask would you recommend and why? I will need a new mask soon, but can't decide.
Tusa M-23 or a comparable Mares?

Personal opinion of course but Tusa fits me better. Bought a mares liquiskin and leaked for me (maybe my face shape) Was in the keys and bought a Tusa cause I liked the look and feel and needed a mask. Love it. Returned the Mares to ST.
This is of couse personal opinion. Some people Mares fit better and they swear by...
Just make sure you get some slate cleaner (for any new mask you get)and scrub the inside of the lens prior to diving and about 1x a year afterwords or will fog like he**.

No need for expensive, special slate cleaner, just use some Softscrub. Sometimes toothpaste works fine also (actual paste, not gel type).

Very important to do this with any new mask, however.

As for masks, I prefer the Mares because I really like the soft, foldable side hinges, but fit is more important.

Hi- Switched over to Cressi-Sub penta mask. Amazing vis, the fit is amazing. The quick release straps are a plus. I dont have a big face, my wife asked for the same mask after using mine. She got blue, I got yellow. See if your local lds will lend one for the pool. kevin

i guess it's really a matter of what fits you best. both are quality masks. I had a Mares X-vision that I couldn't get to stop leaking around the "smile" lines on my face, so I got a Tusa M-24 and presto! problem solved... it's hard to buy a mask without trying it out first!

Same response as JW, had an x-vision (leaked) bought the M24, no leaks.
Gave the Mares to my buddy to try, no leaks on him.

I think it's magic, but i'm simple minded!

Chalk up another ditto to JW, buy what fits you best... and it might not be either of those brands... Trust me, I've spent too much money on cool masks that didn't work for me.. Cressi Big Eyes, Mares X-vision, Atomic Frameless are just some.

I just bought a brand I always walked past and never gave any thought to, and that was Tilos. Just picked up a Panoramic and it fits great, just a little push to set it and I can shake my head considerably before it comes loose.

My favorite si divers hawaii mask "died" after more than 12 years of faitlfu service so I finally started using an ocean master that I had gotten at DEMA but never used. I loved having a purge but now that mask seems to bother me after the first few dives now. I've tired on masks in the store, they fit great, but just can't get them to fit as great when I dive so I'm back to the drawing board in my hunt for the perfect mask!!

I've been wanting to try the tilos panoramic but unfortunately none of my lds here carry them. I've bought a lot of gear online but somehow, I feel you need to try on a mask before buying one.

Kraut, you need to try them on! The first and most important caracteristic of a mast is it not leaking!!!! Then, feeling/ visibility, cost etc... can be considered.

Go to your LDS and try them on!!!
