I had the Liquidskin, it fitted me nicely on dry land, but it leaked when I get to 10 ft. I tried on a buddy's Atomic Subframe, it fitted me much much better, I'm in the process of changing over. It's really hard to say, but looking at the design and quality, Atomic really is top notch. |

They are both good masks, but listen to Scoobidoo and go for what works in the water. I wore a Liquidskin for a few dives, but it leaked on me. Turns out it was a bit too small. I gave it to the wife, and it's great for her. I now dive an Atomic Subframe. It rocks.
The Atomic Frameless is a cool mask but is a small mask, so if you have a big noodle (like me), it aint gonna fit. My buddy dives one, and is pleased with it. Of course, he's got the head of a five year old... |

The liquidskin is the most comfortable mask I've ever tried. But if it doesn,t fit you properly (seal that is), it won't be any good for you. You need to try a bunch on and decide what fits best within your budget!

I have been trying to find a properly fitting mask for a long time. I have tried about 15 different masks, all of which had their problems.
The Atomic subframe is a great mask. Very comfortable, great field of vision, and probably the coolest looking mask on the market (hey, if it doesn't fit, at least look good.) It didn't quite fit me, and was a little big for my face The Atomic frameless is also a great mask and seems to fit even bigger than the subframe. The medium fit was great. So far it is the only mask I have tried that hasn't leaked on me, but the mask rubbed against the bridge of my nose funny, so I decided to try another. I just dived with the Mares Liquidskin Medium this past weekend. Most comforatable mask I have had on. However, it leaked. I also found it very difficult to purge. I think the material is a little too pliable, causing it to leak with the slightest facial gesture. I was wearing a hood, so maybe the mask will fit differently when I am not wearing one. Other than fit, I liked the field of vision better on both of the Atomics. Plus, they come in black skirt, whereas the liquidskin medium does not (although I think the regular size comes in a dark silver color) I am probably going to settle with the Atomic frameless medium. |

I can't it matters what we say if it doesn't fit you.
For me, I have been using the Mares X-Vision for about 3-4 years now and love it. I was looking for a backup mask and tried the LiquidSkin but it didn't fit well and leaked so I went with the Demon that does fit very nicely, although I think the X-vision is a lower volume mask. But I have very happy with both the Demon and the X-vision. |

This is a question that you could ask several different people and get several different answers. I would suggest ya do what I did. I went to ST one day and tried on just about every size, shape, style and brand of mask that they carry to see which one would fit "me" best. In the end I chose the silver/black Mares Liquid Skin because it fit me better than every other mask that I tried. I have used it on several fresh water dives and on my last Cozumel trip as well and I couldnt not ask for a better mask for, "me". The Atomics looked great but they put too much pressure at the bridge of my nose and forehead and a couple of the others just didnt feel right, and when I tried on that Liquid Skin mask it was like it was made just for me. A lil advise is that if it feels a lil uncomfortable or dont feel just perfect when your in the store,..... multiply that feeling times 100 when you are 100ft down.
