I have a Mares X-Vision with prescription (from Scubatoys for full disclosure) and I have no problems with it. I also am considering tying a mask from

Diving Mask -- Welcome To HydroOptix

As I've heard good things and I have access to a discount.

I really like the IST corona mask. Got it at Scubatoys but it looks like
they don't carry it anymore. (couldn't find i on the web page)
It costs about $30 and their corrective lenses are about $25 per side.
This works if you have a simple correction. (no astigmatism)
Mine is about 3 years old and has 200+ dives on it.
I've taken it all over the world on trips and it still seals great.
If I needed another mask, i'd get another one.

Its very similar to the TUSA Splendive mask.

There are several companies that will grind lenses as per yous prescription to fit whatever mask you send them. I dive with a contact in one eye but if I needed to have prescriptions lenses that is the way I would go. Buy a mask to fit and then pay to have lenses made for the mask.

I got mine for around 200 dollars for the seavision one. I really wanted was the oceanic shadow mask. Don't know if they could make RX for that.

body glove prescription mask

I picked up an off the shelf prescription mask at sports chalet, $59.00. they have it in three different diopters. I've been diving with 2 hydro optics masks and love them. but, for a small volume mask, $, and IT FITS!! this mask was a GREAT DEAL.

If your prescription is easy and basic, and you get the right kind of mask that has drop-in lenses available, you can just buy the mask off the shelf, buy the lenses off the shelf, install them and be done. You do need to know your current prescription to make the right decision here. Call your eye doctor and they should be able to send it to you.

If your prescription is more complicated (bifocals, astigmatism, beyond -7, etc.), or if you are farsighted (most drop in's are for nearsighted only), you'll most likely need a custom prescription mask.

If you go custom, you can buy any mask you want and they will install lenses onto it.

I do recommend a place that specializes in this work, since there are subtleties that not every optician will get. I've bought several masks from Welcome to Prescription Dive Mask and always been pleased with their work. They've been doing this a long time. Very pleasant to speak with over the phone, and very knowledgable. Give them a call and find out what your best solution will be!

I use inexpensive 2-lens Trident black skirted masks that I use LDS over the counter diopter lens in.....great custom mask for under a $100.
