Scubapro Jet Max vs Slingshots

I need new fins and I kind of can't make a decision on what to get. Im kind of stuck in between the scubapro jet max fins which a friend of ours recommended or the slingshots which he said was a gimmick. Any suggestions would be great. Thanks

One question regarding the comment about the gimmic:

Has he tried diving with them or is this just a pronunciation based on a photo in an ad?

i have the Twin Jet Max fins. I'm satisfied.

But I haven't tried the Slingshot fins, so I wouldn't know if they're any good or not.

See, I'm thinking he might not have tried them out but based it instead on his experience with a similar fin tusa came out with and discontinued. I don't know quite what to think about the slingshots, though I think the twin jets do have a pretty good reputation. Decesions, decisions, decisions .

I have the Twin Jet Max and like them in the water. But they are huge fins. Makes getting up a ladder with waves interesting.

Twin Jet Max

I own a set of Twin Jet max and have about 100 dives with them and love them. I tried a set of the new slingshots at an OW class we were doing on Sunday so my experience with them is limit to a pool but of the two I think I like the Twin Jets better, of course I would hate to think I would have to spend another $200 on another set of fins if the loved the slingshots.

slingshots all the way babe!!!

I needed a "back -up " pair of fins for a trip to the channel islands next week so i took my quatros, xl jet fins, and went to my lds. i put the slingshots on,and rolledx into the pool, my ankle immediatley thanked me (i blew an ankle up a few years back). then i tried my quatros, then my jets. I bought the slingshots!!! My quatros are NOW the back-ups. I've dove a LOT of fins over the years and i have to say, i have yet to have found a pair of fins that come close to the comfort, power, and just down right I LIKE THEM OF ANY FIN THAT I HAVE DOVE YET!!!!job well done aqualung!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I dove slingshots in the pool only, and they really are quick and effortless with the flutter kick. They are also useless with the frog kick which I use 80% of the time so I just saved some money.

Maybe I'm doing something wrong, but I didn't find them any different than my quattros doing a frog kick. I do think that if that's what you do the most, then they should be set to the stiffest setting. I'll admit if they on the 1st setting, they are pretty flexible, and in that setting feel more like split fins, but set to stiff, they perform about like my quattros, maybe even a bit more responsive.
