Need Wide face mask

My hubby likes snorkeling now, but he has a wide, big face. He actually shaved his mustache off for our recent trip and it helped him a lot to keep the water from leaking in, BUT he said the mask now leaks from the sides. He needs a really wide mask. So anyone out there have some good ideas. I am hoping if he can get the face mask thing down he might consider trying scuba.

You might want to try a Scubapro Wide Vu. About the widest I have found to date. Tusa Visualator is very similar.

hmmmm... your whole "Alaska" thing really throws a kink into the old "Go try them on at your LDS" line.... I'm assuming dive shops are kinda scarce?

For tough to fit faces it's probably the best answer though... and don't be afraid to try on brands or styles you'd normally pass up, it might be the one that fits best. That's how I ended up with my Tilos, not a brand I'd usually pick but it seals great above water. We'll find out how well it does under water in about 4 days!!

I'm a "fluffy fellow" and have a wide face as well. The Oceanic Shadow has been the only one that "fits" my face. Granted, if I laugh or smile cause my dive buddy done something stupid, it leaks but, nothing other than that.

I've got a pretty big face myself! bought a Mares X-vision and had seal problems, and someone on this board recommended the Tusa M-24
Tusa Powerview M-24 mask, Dive Masks, Tusa, Tusa Powerview M-24 mask

I bought the M-24 and LOVE IT!!! skirt seals nicely and fits my face well, with great field of vision.....

The Tusa "M-14 Visualizer" is about as big and wide as they come. I've got one wth a black skirt.

Thanks for the info. He found a Tilos mask on holiday that fit really well but it was a rental and old with no markings on it and the rental guys couldn't figure out the name of it and didn't have any others to buy. The mask was cracked and about to fall apart or else he would've tried to buy that one.
My usual dive store just quit selling dive gear, so I will try the other store in town and see what they have. Just wondering what brands to start looking at, he has tried on some but it was really limited stock.

Tusa Visulator

I have searched everywhere for a mask to fit my giant head and wide jaw and i will do series injury to any one that messes with my Tusa Visulator. I never leave it out of my site !! The soft silicone skin seals perfect on my face ... just wished i could have got the black skin one but oh well.

Poke around the Tilo's website to see if the mask he used is there?

Tilos, Inc
