Dive Charters

Can someone recommend some dive charters for Chicago?

I'll send you information for one out of Burnham Harbor tomorrow (Left his card @ the office). I have met him (his daughter is in my daughter's class) and he is Pro all the way. He usually goes to two or three wrecks per trip and is one of the more popular charters with the local shops. He told me he is pretty full on the weekends but can work something out for during the week pretty easy. When he isn't doing his charters he does underwater surveys and mechanical work for different municipalities and industry in the area.

I use www.lovesparkscuba.com , It is where I was certified and I have had a GREAT time with them. Are you local? If so I am also looking for anyone that would want to shore dive on Thursdays or Fridays.

No, I am a couple hours south of Chicago. How is the shore diving around there? I never thought about it before.

If you go to his web site you can see his schedule. A lot of the weekends are booked up with local dive shop trips but you can always contact them and book through them as well. Please if you do contact him please let him know that Randy from Bolingbrook mentioned him. He'll probably charge double!!

Thanks for the info. I am interested in making a trip up to Chicago during the week sometime. My weekends are so screwey.

My LDS uses DIVE CHICAGO™ I would highly reccomend Capt Bob he is top notch and has a great boat. He is certified by the USCG and even though his boat will hold 20+ divers he tends to limit to a smaller number so you have a great day of diving. If you go with them ask Capt Bob to tell you about William the refrigerator Perry's scuba experience.

If you are going to dive out of Chicago Windy City is the BEST. I run the charters for Frogg Pond Dive Shop out of Highland Park IL. We have used many charters and Windy City is the BEST.
Capt Dale out of Waukegan runs a great operation.
Capt Jerry on the Lender out of Milwauke runs a first class operation.
Capt Dan on the Lockwood Explorer is a great guy. The boat is a little small but very fast. He can get you to dive sites in 1/2 the time of the other boats.
