Look at your local dive shop. They usually have a dive club that is associated with them. You could also look at Indiana State and see if the have a Dive club. I knew they had one in the 70's as my father was a member. It looks like that you are pretty far from Indianapolis. So that may not be an option. I would think your best chance to find a club is in Terre Haute.

cool. I know a few strip pits from coal digging down south of me. Good vis when swimming and a few are 70 or even 90 feet deep. There is cagell mills lake .25 mile from me. But from what i am being told and can see swimming. It is beyond murky water. A guy told me there is one bad spot where a old creek (predam) and the river bed meet the currents make it extra dark he told me his buddy lost his keys there. Took two days and three tanks he set his hand on his mask one day and could not see it due to the mud residue building on his mask

Sweet. you just jogged a memory in my head. I just remembered what really made me want to dive. As a kid properly around 13 14 we went to lake muchigan. Where were fishing a a big concret wall going out by a beach. When a diver popped up. Hey want a fishen pole he said. He had found a pole on the bottom. Come to find out it was 40 years old junk. He did this three time a fishing pole, a nice indiana liceanse plate(wish i still had it) and a boat anchor. I thought it was so cool. That next day we was snorkeling in a little river.
But hey got a few questions for you. What kind of diving do you like what gear do you use. We will have to go for sure when i get my cert. Quote:
