Mermet Springs Sept 26

Mermet Springs is having DUI Dog days this weekend 9/26 & 9/27. I am going on Saturday to dive, but I don't know if I am going to demo a drysuit. Is anyone else going?

I plan to check it out some day, but not this weekend...gotta get things buttoned down for next week's departure for the Keys. Woo Hoo! We get to see something other than quarry rocks for a change.

The guys at my LDS are big time tech divers. I think some of those guys might be going.

was there yesterday, but didn't dive dry. Mermet staff said they had over 300 divers there yesterday. Made the conditions quite crowded, and there probably wasn't a bit of silt not kicked up in the shallow part. But the diving was fun and the spoonbills were plentiful.

I was the first in the water on Saturday and did two dives wet, then tried a drysuit on an afternoon dive. The viz was not great even early due to a few hard rain showers during the week, and the viz on the afternoon dive was definitely less. Even with 300 divers I didn't find it crowded in the water because so many were being fitted and waiting to be fitted for drysuit trials dives. Low viz, kind of crowded, cold water. Man I had a great time! I love this stuff.
