Mares Voltrex with MR22 First Stage
![]() The Mares Voltrex 22 is the top-performing regulator, the technical product embodying latest underwater breathing innovations. Designed to meet the severe U.S. Navy specifications, the Mares Voltrex has proven it can substantially exceed them. The truth is this the excact same thing as the Abyss 22 only they changed the cover a littel! The regulator first stage is the MR22 diaphragm, using a high pressure poppet designed for 2 year, or 200 dive service interval - doubling the standard seat life standard! |

Hi Larry, I'm interested in the Voltrex but haven't been able to find any information about it on Mares' website. How old is the Voltrex? Are there really no mechanical differences that distinguish it from the Abyss? Are parts still available for the Voltrex? Is the MR22 first stage new or new old stock, and was it originally paired with the Voltrex second stage? Any additional info that you could provide about the Voltrex would be much appreciated! I purchased an MR12 Proton Metal from ya'll earlier this evening, but I'm also in need of a higher-performing regulator such as the Abyss or Voltrex. Thanks!

I'm heading out of town for the week, but for questions like this - instead of posting, just shoot a note to Joe info@scubatoys.com
I can't read every post on the forums, but luckily I found this one... But Joe would have much better answers to your questions. |

Its not a sexy looking as the Abyss
No self respecting scuba babe is going to ask for a look at your Voltrex when my Abyss sits alongside. Not that I would know what to do if a Scuba Babe ever did that. Besides the wife dives now sigh. Kraks
