What are these hoses all about? Has anyone used them?
Kraks Tune-up your regulator! The new Mares Superflex hoses offer greater comfort, safety and duration. Looking to update your ‘old’ Mares Regulator? Simply add a new super-flexible hose! Read on to learn more about the benefits… Superflex hoses are 30% lighter than traditional rubber versions, and far more flexible! Unlike rubber, they do not deform, with three layers (Nylon, PET and PU) having made the impossible possible! Superflex hoses are more resistant to atmospheric agents and UV rays and are twice as resistant to test pressure than rubber equivalents. Techies will also appreciate the fact that Mares Superflex hoses are also available in the 210 cm length recommended by technical associations.

I saw this in the Mares newsletter yesterday, looks like their own version of the Miflex hose. I had purchased a Mares Proton octo reg from ST for a backup reg set and it came with the Mares version of a Miflex, I wonder if this is the same thing they are referring to and they are just making them available to the general public now with the gaining popularity of Miflex?

as do most people in most applications seem to also, scootering may be an exception. I am a single tank 90% OW diver using a 22" back up with a 40" primary, just yesterday ordered a HP Miflex also. Cheers. |

I dug my Mares hose out to compare it to the other Miflex hoses I have and guess what? Exact same hose with the same markings on the fittings. The difference is that the Mares yellow is similar in color to the standard yellow octo hose and they have their own rubber fitting covers.
