I did the Ventura, and yes I did it through an LDS--Lehigh Valley Dive Center (the dive shop right by Dutch Springs). It was a wreck class, so we did two dives at Dutch on Saturday and practiced running a line, etc, and then Sunday we did two on the Ventura. It was a great experience for a first time NJ wreck because viz was good and the water was pretty warm (70 at the bottom).

I was in that store for the first time last week. Wow they have a lot of stuff, and great customer service. They let me dive with a mask and return it, no questions asked.

Where did you board the boat for the Ventura?

We boarded in Belmar NJ. The boat was only the crew plus the people in the class which is also nice for a first timer. I've been very impressed with the shop so far. This was my first class through them and I'd definitely recommend it. I heard a rumor that they are going out again next month and if at all possible, I'll be going with them again.

Yeah, another NY'er here. Still work in the city but have moved out to Long Island.

I have yet to dive locally though.
