Opinion on these regs

Going to buy my first reg/octo/gauge/computer set up and have been researching regs like mad but would love some input since I have mainly dove with nothing but cressi and scubapro regs and a couple no names I can't remember.

Dues to price and reviews I have narrowed my choices down to:
Seaair Tri Metal
Zeagle Envoy Deluxe
Tusa RS460
Oceanic GT3 DVT (like because of the DVT)

I know there are no Mares on the list. I am primarly diving in asia and Mares doesn't seem to have a great rep (where I am) so I don't want to be stuck with a reg that I will find hard to service.

So that being said...i am not sure how easy the Seaair or Zeagle will be to service either...and they are the 2 I like the most due to reviews

Any info would be great!

Cheers
Lorne

The Zeagle Envoy constantly comes up as a tremendous value for the money in reg tests. I have a DSV (very similar) and agree.

I don't think service should be a big problem if you have a mailbox . Plus, the design is very similar to about half of the regs out there so a non-Zeagle shop should be able to fix problems too.

I am considering the GT3 DVT as well for my wife and I - they seem to be a pretty good value for the money. One thing that I just read was that the DVT cannot be converted to DIN if you would ever want to change over - I do not think that will affect my choice, but it might affect yours.

A friend dives the Oceanic Delta regs and loves them... that's my only experience with them, but Oceanic seems to make a good value product.

I bought a Delta in '84 or '85. I finally retired it last year. No problems, but the overhauls sometimes took a long time. Not sure if this was the LDS's problem or a problem with Oceanic (the LDS, of course, said "Oceanic"._ I got rid of it over that issue, as 6wks was way to long for annual service.

For my son's first reg, I purchased a SeaAir Trimetal.

I tried it out, and other than a stiff adjustment knob, it works as well or better than my new USD Legend LX ACD. It is a great regulator and easy to service (according to our NEW LDS.)

I have a pair of the RS460's - love em... same as the Scubapro MK16/R390 setup, so, anyone that knows how to service either brand can help you... both breathe exceptionally well, the diver adjustment really makes a huge difference...

I've been a big fan of TUSA though - commitment to quality and used their RS130 regs when in training - had an awesome experience with them too... no qualms anywhere... nothing against the other brands, I just know I've been consistently happy with my Tusa stuff...

(it scored pretty well on the Scubalab tests as well)

I bought the GT3 (Non-DVT) for my wife - and she like it a lot. I chose the non-dvt as its now a "discontinued" model so I was able to get it cheap.

I have heard good things about all the regs you mentioned. Pick the one that can be easily maintained in your area.

Thanks for the input...however decided to go with the Tusa rs 130. They are popular over here and easy to get serviced..also decided to buy a lot more equipment than I was going to so I figure this reg will last me a year at least and then it can always be my back up once I upgrade. Decided I would rather buy a good full set of gear that i can grow with and upgrade along the way rather than just getting a few great parts and still have to rely on the underserviced rental gear I have seen around here.

Thanks Again,
Lorne
