Haven't tried the Atomic, I do have a Zeagle Octo-z that performs flawlessly...The Atomic scored better in Rodales so if it actually functions better it is one fine piece of gear...

I sport it. Have had it about 2 years, and have no complaints. Of course, I've not had to implement my octo, either...

It's a good 2nd stage. Scuba Diving magazine just had a write-up on it in their July (or was that June) issue.

Thumbs up from Bigg_Budd.

I have had one for 2 years as well. Here is what I like about it:

1) It is where it needs to be: It is routine to have your hands on the same area that you inflate/deflate your BCD.
In the event of an issue I do not have to FIND my octo
2) No second hose: enough said
3) The attachment allows for you to attach a garden hose so that you can COMPLETELY fill your BCD bladder for a good cleaning.
4) Easy on/off, it is small so that you can put it in your reg bag when you are done.

i just got one and havent tried it out yet but cant wait. I did get a garden hose quick disconnect from lowes and put it on my inflator hose so i could keep air in my bc when my atomic is disconnected.

I have had mine for three years and love it. I usually try to breathe through it for a little while on every dive just to get used to swapping and practicing buoyancy control while breathing through it. I always plan on donating my primary since it is on a longer hose.

My wife just bought one and said that she likes it much better than her old octo setup.
