Hose fitting sizes, scuba and non-scuba

I'm putting together a sizing chart for fittings and hoses, with an emphasis on the most common sizes used in the scuba industry. I don't know if it will serve a real purpose or not, but if you're trying to do something with your rig and cannot find the correct size fitting, this may help. This occurred to me when I bought a couple of simple 1/2" UNF O-ring plugs today at my regular hydraulics supplier. I knew to ask for a couple of -05 plugs, but many people may not know this. They were like 45 cents each, and I see scuba shops selling basically the same thing for 10 bucks. If this would be a useful tool for our scuba brothers and sisters, feel free to add to it. I have only covered the basics with this table, with the most common scuba related sizes highlighted in red.

Thanks for the info.

BTW: When You buy a new reg and the LDS assembles it for you. Make sure that you get the plugs. Many LDS just drop them into a box and sell them back to you when you need one.

The metric equivalent may be somewhat confusing to some. Although the US standard and metric equialvent are physically close to the same size and thread pitch they are not interchangable. You can't screw a 3/8-24 hose into a M10x1.5 port or vise versa. Metric and US are two different animals and can not be mixed.

Yeah, it's just there as a size reference, nut you are correct, they will not interchange. I probably should have left that part off, but if someone is used to the metric system, it gives them an idea of the size.

Are you going to list what items use these various fittings?

I suppose that could be added to the table. While we're at it, I'm open to suggestions on what this should include to be of value to divers. Or would it have any value at all?

These are used in paintball, and the inlet threads are standard pipe threads (1/4" pipe I think), so the hookup possibilities would be endless. Built in pressure gauge too!

thanks, that is a possibility, what I really want to find is the valve connection that connects to the yoke( I have yokes) and I can get hose(hp) and I have Gauges.

BTW that is a really good idea to list standard sizes of common fittings etc. Thanks for taking the time.
