I use a 7 ft hose with necklaced octo and have had zero problems with it being too floaty or anything. Everything stays tight to my body and I am more streamlined because of it.

I wont go back to regular hose routing or regular hoses ever...

If your backup (octo) is routed under your arm, do you have a 90 degree swivel on it, or is the Miflex soft enough that it'll make the bend and not kink or pull? Have you actually used the octo yourself for a good length of time to see how it feels? What length hose ... 22"? I'm thinking of going this route, so I'm anxious to hear how it's working for others.

I just tried my new 40-inch Miflex hose this weekend for 5 dives. I did not route it under my arm; I will do so in the future, per SplitLip's (in another thread) and GMS CompuDude's recommendations. My octo is on standard rubber hose on a necklace under the right arm. I was comfortable breathing this as well. Per SplitLip, I may go to short (22-inch) hose over the shoulder.

Just installed Zeagle swivel/Miflex hose ...

My Zeagle swivel finally showed up today. Haven't tried it yet, obviously, but it looks like a pretty well-made part. As an ex-machinist, I feel pretty confident that it'll work well ... I only have to wait 3 months to try it.

I ordered my 90 degree adapter (zeagle) today, should be here tomorrow or the next day...

I, however, will be diving this weekend, so I'll report back how the Miflex hose, 90 degree adapter AND seacure mouthpiece all work together...

Well, the standard 32" reg hose is just a little short... going to need a 40" hose to make it route under my arm comfortably... right now it routes under my arm, and in the standard horizontal position, it reaches, but its a little bit of a stretch... the 90 degree adapter is great though... I swapped it out for my 40" octo hose, and it routes perfect, like the hose isn't even there...

going to be the perfect combo when I get the right length primary hose...

For a reference, the hose on the Sherwood Maximus, that goes under the arm by design, is 39" long. I'm considering changing out the stock hose for a 40" Miflex hose.
