1st stage Ports - HP-MP/LP ???

I am looking at buying my first reg setup. I know what HP ports are but I see some that list MP or LP ports. I am guessing this is medium and low pressure ports. Is there a difference between the two?
Also, how many of each type ports of each should I really be looking for in the first stage? Offhand I can only think of needing enough for a SPG, reg, octo, LP inflater. So is that 1 HP and 3 MP/LP ports?

HP is the High pressure side. Most regs have one or two. One is normally all thats needed but there are a few cases where two are used. One is for AI computers with SPG backup. Another is a pony system which uses a HP hose with check valve to fill the pony. (permanently attached)

As for LP hoses, 4 is generally a good number. 2 ports for 2nd stages, 1 port for the BC inflator and 1 port for a Drysuit inflator.

I don't think there is any difference between LP and MP.

Will you need all of them now - probably not. You might want them in the future though.

I had no idea thats how a pony bottle could be filled. Thanks for that info.
Right now I am leaning towards the AquaLung legend LX ACD. Of the few different ones I've used, this was the most comfortable for me, breathed well at depth, and just seemed to fit.
If you have any other recommendations I'm open to looking into them.
