Good octo match for Mares V16 Proton Metal

I recently purchased a used Mares V16 Proton Metal regulator from ST for my son and I just realized that I didn't get him an octo.

What do you guys think would be a good match for that reg? We mostly dive cold (Monterey, CA).

the proton octo (my choice on the same reg)
or the brigade would both be good.

Thanks! I ordered him the proton. He's not really fond of the slimline octos. Now we all have everything! (Until I see something new and cool that I just have to have.)

Good choice! That's what I have on my V16 and it breathes almost as easily as my Proton XL 1st 2nd stage! The protons are great 2nds...

Proton definitely, one of the better octo in the Mares lineup...

I have a Mares all metal "She Dives" regulator and got the Proton octo and love it! You made a good choice.
