Jamb nut / spacer for Atomics 2nd stage!!?

Gah!
Someone help me out... does this jamb nut actually exist?
I was given a ST1 2nd stage as a gift, but i hate swivels. The local dealer isn't able to get his hands on this jamb nut.
Does anyone know where i can get it?

Also has anyone seen the deal ST has on a used M1 on their page, that's awesome! I wonder if it's still available?

Yes! it exists.

There is a thread here or on scubaboard. Try searching both places. Somebody posted some nice pics and I think they discussed how they can be obtained.

The local dealer is wrong (in the US anyway, I see you are in Australia). Any atomic dealer can order one. A customer service oriented dealer will probably pull one of a Z2 in stock and sell it to you. I think MSRP is less than $10.

I don't have the part number anymore, but if you call Atomic they will tell right away (makes it easier when you walk into the Atomic dealer).

There is a non-heat sink version and a heat-sink version. Both are inexpensive (for Atomic, anyway).

If your dealer still gives you grief, call Atomic and let them know. They are a service oriented company, but with their silly internet sales restrictions they have to count on all of their local dealers to take care of things.

Atomic policy a pain in the A**

Like you I wanted to eliminate the swivel, and also use a miflex hose to reduce weight, and ordered the heat sink from my local S. Fla. dealer. I then had to ship my reg to the service center to have the spacer put on by a certified Atomic tech. This is pure undiluted B.S.. I was not charged for the transport, the shop manager (who was an angel, and just as offended) was going for other things and hand carried my reg. Just to note: since some models of Atomic 2nd stages come with a clean-out ring, does the Atomic co. void the warranty if the non-mantinence certified owner dares to use this feature?

That is weird. The dealer I bought my spacer from just handed me the part in a plastic bag and said have a nice day.

My LDS isn't giving me the run around, just that the distributor in Australia doesn't seem to stock the jamb nuts.

So this internet restriction, does this stop me from buying the jamb nut /spacer online then? I gotta say, if that's so then it's pretty fucked. I was given the ST1 as a gift and the person who gave it didn't know that i don't use swivels.
Gah! I just want to use this 2nd as my bungied backup

I would call Atomic in the US, explain the situation, and ask what you should do. They have a reputation for being responsive to situations like this.

I don't remember what the thread size is on the 2nd stage, but as one point I planned to pick up a nut from a specialty hardware store. That might be an option that would work for you. The jam nut doesn't do anything except take up space (unless it's the heat sink version). Obviously you want a material that holds up well in the salt water (probably stainless).
