Opinions on 3 regs

Hello

I am a new diver (how many of those you heard so far? :-) ). I think I did my due dilligence and looked through this forum, and some others to educate myself a bit more. I found this one to be really good, as well as http://www.scubadiving.com/gear/regulators.

What do you think of these configurations, considering this:
- On budget, but would rather buy 'brand name' :-)
- For now 20 -30 dives per year, in all kinds of warter (warm, cold, salty, lake).

Aqualung Calypso Regulator (TESTERS CHOICE 2004), Aqualung Calypso/Titan Octopus and Tusa Double Gauge Pressure & Compass (SCA-240),

Scuba Pro - Scubapro MK2 Plus/R190 Regulator, Scubapro 190 Octopus and a Tusa Double Gauge Pressure & Compass (SCA-240).

And lastly, one I priced out at this site :-)
Tusa SCA-330T Compact Analog Gauge with Compass,
Mares Rebel Octo
Mares MR12 Rebel Regulator

Too bad there aren't other options for a gauge with pressure, depth and a compass. The one I had with other configurations is generally about $50 cheaper then the 'tiny' model.

Thanks in advance,

Regulators

I just recently bought my first set of gear (wetsuit, regulators, BC, tank, etc) from SCUBA TOYS. For the regulators, I went with an Aeris A1 first and second stage, an Aeris analogue guage set with compass. For the octo, I went with a Zeagle octo/inflator to eliminate a hose on my rig. I've only got 7 dives in but I'm very happy with the rig so far.

Well I was told by a reliable source that if you are planning on getting ScubaPro the ones he recommended was:
MK17 and the X250 as they are the 'workhorse' but also last years model. Because they aren't the razor edge they are cheaper... but he swore by them

It's true, you can get last year's model cheaper. I'm a big Zeagle fan, but the MK17 x250 is a very good reg. I'm more fond of the MK25 1st stage, but it tends to push the overall reg cost up.

We've been using the Calypso regs as rentals. It's a very nice breather compare to other rentals we've used previously. Smooth, easy (relatively) and a workhorse. People have been just throwing them into gear bags, dragging them on the floor and they've proved to be very reliable. With that price tag, they're certainly worth every penny.

I am looking at getting an Aqualung Titan LX for my primary reg-one of the main reasons is the LDS sells and services them. I also like the fact that AL is almost everywhere in the world so wherever I go there will be parts/service if I need it. I found the Titan to be an easy breath all around.

I bought my Oceanic Delta IV with FDX-10 first stage through ST -- it breathes very well and I love it.
