you can't really fault the MR12, affordable entry level first stage but really sweet, easy breathing too

Great workhorse reg. I bought it from ST this summer, there are very few in it's price range that can touch it, in my opinion. I like that it's made of metal, both from a durability point of view and it's less likely to freeze up and free flow on cold water dives.

I've used my girlfriends MR12 proton (identical to metal, but with plastic 2nd) and it breathes like a dream. It's what convinced me to buy myself a V16 proton and no regrets to this day! They breathe great at any depth and no need to adjust any nob. The metal version will also help you reduce that drymouth feeling!

I give it 3 thumbs up!

My wife has this reg. I have never used it but she swears by it. Maybe she will post about it later.
