Always good to check, but I doubt any are still on the shelves except at small LDS's who might have a slow turnover.

Yeah, I ordered just the reg, no extras... can't beat it for the price.

How is it? I am close to ordering mine, and am really excited about it. Have you gotten a chance to dive it yet? I need details!

I used to have the Oceanic CDX5/GT3 with an Alpha 8 octo and if I could have gotten the deal that ScubaToys has now I would have jumped on it. The octo breathed great even having it down to 80+ feet. Sure it was a little wet upside down but so are regs that are 4 times this price and the CDX5 first stage is a proven enviromentally sealed design.

That settles it then. Once I get my next commission check I am taking the plunge and getting this regulator. I am excited. If I like this reg as much as everyone else on this thread, I think I would stay with Oceanic as they seem to be a solid brand. Do you guys usually stick with one brand when it comes to gear? What do you do?

I had always used scubapro products.....well only one......I used the very same mk10/G250 I had bought when I was certified in 89' up until about 2 years ago...18 years of use from one reg....couldnt be more pleased with that!......after that I tried cressi and now oceanic.....couple brands in 2 years time, who knows what I will try next....I just ordered my wife the alpha 8 and I have the GT3......I will stick with oceanic products now. I may give my son the GT3 and order me a new NEO or an EOS, not sure though because I need a new BC, LOL.

The recall was limited, and there's a tool to check the serial number of the CDX5 to see if it was involved in the recall. Both that I bought this summer from ST were not part of the recall.
Larry,

Would this be something you guys would catch at the shop before shipping out/selling to customers, or would the customer have to keep a watchful eye on the serial number? Just curious. I got this same regulator as a Christmas gift.

So does anybody else with the CDX5 first stage find the hose layout annoying? I have improved mine with the Miflex hose... but would have probably preferred the hoses come out differently. I otherwise like the performance of the reg.
