Sherwood are basically known as dependable, but not really a high performance reg. So I guess if that is what you were looking for - you should be happy with your purchase. I would have probably tried to move you to Zeagle on your reg and BC, but I really like their lifetime warranty and support from that company over many other options. But as everyone else echoed, if you are happy with it - that's all that matters.

I rented a bunch of gear over the years and tried several different things. I also listened to other experienced divers I trusted and read a whole lot of reviews and reports. That said...

When I bought my gear I was happy and proud. No buyers remorse, just great gear to dive with.

Before you spend any more money research and/or rent so when the wallet comes out you will not have any remorse or concerns.

The Sherwood Oasis was my choice for a first regulator. It works well, is highly reliable and breaths fairly well at depth even in cold water.
Your choice should serve you well for years to come if you maintain it properly.

Uh, Larry. I bought my stuff from you guys a couple of months ago. What do I need to do to bind the warranty properly? I didn't register it or anything. Was I supposed to? Thanks.

Zeagle only requires proof of purchase from an authorized dealer - so no registration or cards are needed. Just a copy of your receipt, and we have all that databased for you... So no problem!

I learned on Sherwood Oasis regulators, and it's a good, basic regulator. When I bought, I went the next step up to a Sherwood Maximus, to get the under arm hose routing (although you can do this yourself with almost any regulator). Sherwood regulators are work horses and should last a long time, if taken care of and serviced regularly. Plus, in my limited experience diving here and overseas, there always seems to be someone around who can service them.

As others have said, if you're satisfied with it, it's the best! If the LDS you bought from has access to a pool, go diving and use the Oasis. Many LDS will allow you to trade if you don't like it.

It really depends on price and what diving you want to do in the future, a better performing reg, Zeagle, Apexs etc might be more worthwhile in the long term, that said I dive an Aqualung Micron because I like the size/weight but am getting a pair of Apex XTX 50's for twins.
