Din Conversion Kit ?

When using a din conversion kit, would your first stage be much more accessible to water? Is it possible to use a conversion kit for extreme cold or technical dives?

I am not sure that I follow what you mean by more accessible to water?

The only reason that DIN is prefered over Yoke IMO is that it is a more secure connectoin to the tank, less chance of o-ring problems. For slightly older HP tanks that had a fill rating of 3500psi they were needed because Yoke was not rated that high. Now with HP tanks being 3442psi yo ucan use either yoke or din. The newer style yokes are actaully capable of holding the 3500psi fill, so if you have a 3442psi tank and when it gets filled to 3500psi do not think that a yoke reg is not going to be able to handle it, because it will do just fine.

Any reg should be able to be converted over to DIN.

Phil

Whether or not a reg works well in cold water is totally dependent on the regulator itself. Water will not get in a first stage via the hookup as long as there is pressure present so it doesn't matter if it's DIN or Yoke. As Phil said, DIN is a more secure connection and that is it's main claim to fame.
