Zeagle Regulator
After hours of research and slowly discounting other regs for one reason or another, I have made a tentative decision on getting a Zeagle for my primary and octo. In the end, the combination of their support, online policies and overall high industry opinion won me over.
The question remains which model. I do zero cold diving and have no plans on doing so. I like the afford-ability of the Envoy/Envoy Deluxe and for a "budget" regulator it has some very good breathing numbers. The Flathead VI and XP at the current price is a hard reg to skip over but I don't really like buying equipment on verge of being phased out. The Flathead 7 and LT are just outside of my price range and really overkill for the diving I do but wow they look nice. DSV, ZX both look OK as well. Anyway a big line up and a hard decision to make. Currently leaning towards the XP since I can buy it for $300 new. That said, any input would be appreciated. Personally, I wouldn't hesitate to buy a Flathead VI, even if they are being phased out. Zeagle will continue to make service kits for them since it's the same kit as other Zeagle regs, and you'll never be able to match the deal that ST is offering now for them.
On the other hand, I've been diving an Envoy/Envoy combo for the past 5 years and they've been fabulous regs. I like to say they breathe as well at 133' as they do at 13'., and its totally true. ![]() But really the bottom line is that you won't go wrong with ANY Zeagle reg you choose. ![]()
