Hang them?

I have my hanging from the same hook as my BC hanger is on. I try to place the spg, reg and oct in such a way that they rest on the cumberbun and pockets of my Brigade so the hoses are not taking all of the weight of the gear.

Don't know if that is a good idea or not, it just didn't seem good to let the gear pull on the hoses for long periods of time.

I do not like the hanging idea as you are putting stres on your hoses and fittings. Lay them down loosely in a circular pattern.

Most people store them in their regulator bag.

Some people say that coiling them in the bag long term is bad for them. I don't see how as they come in the manufacturer box coiled twice as tight and stay that way for months. The manufacturer wouldn't do something that causes recall issues with their regulators or failures.

Other folks store them loosely in rubber-maid type totes.

Alot of it's personal preference.

I wouldn't reccomend storing them in a hot garage though. Or leaving them hanging up especially in the garage where insects could make spider nests, etc in the air exhaust. The worst thing I've seen with this is dirt-dobbers making a nest in the air-exhaust. That would suck to find that out underwater. Luckily they found it during annual service.

I would have to agree with the reg back statement.

It just seems to make sense to keep it there.

I've hung my regs since 1990 and garaged them since 1993 and have never had a problem with any stress or heat related damage.

hanging them is just fine, the hoses are much stronger than you might think. If your going to bag them I would hang them for a week or so just to be 100% sure they are completely dry to avoild mold and mildue problems.

I hang mine for about a week or so to completely drain and dry, then they go in a Rubbermade tub loosely coiled with a snap on lid. I'm not excited about the idea of critters taking up residence in my regs, hence the lidded container.
