Atomic Reg Service From the Manufacture Review..

Hello All

So after much hemming and hawing, I decided to send my B2 1st stage and Second Stage along with my Z2 octo to Atomic for service.

I also sent to them my Subframe mask, as I noticed rust on the nose bridge and wanted to see if they could fix it.

I sent it UPS 2nd day for $30.00......on a Thursday, it got there Monday. I received a call on Tuesday morning telling me that it was completely finished and ready to be returned to me. They then told me that it was $110 but that they would be sending it overnight for no additional charge, and that they also put the sealing kit into the first stage, in addition they replace all the hoses with new ones, and replaced all the covers on the regs.

As for my mask....They were very sorry but there was nothing they could do about fixing it....so they were sending me a new one free of charge!!

WOW.....I got it the other day, cracked open the box and low and behold came out a brand new mask and for what all intent and purposes looked like a brand new B2/Z2!!!!!!

So my initial shock at the $110 almost made me sh*t a brick when all I though about was how ST would have done it for half....but when I heard that basically they were just giving me a new regulator I got over the fact....It looks like I just took it out of the box...so beautiful!\

Can't wait to dive it....Bonaire in two weeks!!!!

While it sounds like they did a great job, you really should dive that reg before you go on a trip to Bonaire just to make sure there are no surprises. The dive that is more likely than any other dive to have regulator problems is the first dive after a service.

A good spare beats the best warranty for saving a dive trip.

Good to hear stuff like this. I am thinking about a ZX2 and SS1 here in the next few weeks, and the more I read about Atomic the more I like.
