Does 3500 psi hurt my Aqua Lung Titan LX reg?

I've got an HP120 steel tank that is regularly filled to 3500 psi or higher. Does that pressure damage my Aqua Lung Titan LX Supreme reg? My guess is that Aqua Lung engineers their regs to tolerate these pressures, which are common today, but I don't know for sure.

I can't say for sure but, I'm sure it's fine. I'd recommend calling/E-mailing Aqualung and ask them directly.

It's perfectly safe to do and designed to do it at that rated pressure.

Aqualung sells the Titan first stage in either yoke or DIN, which is rated to 3500psi. (actually on the Titan I think it comes in yoke but you can buy a DIN conversion kit)

I have a feeling if I call or email Aqua Lung I'll get some corporate, lawyer approved answer. I'm looking for the truth.

Like the others, I can't say for sure, but I've used a number of regs with HP tanks and never had any issues. Personally, I wouldn't sweat it, but I can't say from a manufacturer's perspective.

I bought a HP130 yesterday and the owner of the dive shop when I asked him the differences between hp and lp steel says that the lp tanks are thought to be easier on the first stage of regulators then the hp tanks.

if your reg is DIN, then you have nothing to worry about. if it's Yoke, i'd have to agree with Jamesmb's post - i'd either convert the reg to a DIN or use lower pressure air in tanks.

The TRUTH? You can't handle the TRUTH!

(sorry... couldn't resist a little Jack Nicholas impersanation).

But really, If Aqualung didn't sell a DIN conversion (300 bar) for the regulator, then you might have some concerns, but since 300 bar is greatly above 3500psi, you've got no concerns.

This is perfectly Ok with it per the manufacturer since they sell the part to convert it.

You'd be hard-pressed these days to find a first stage that couldn't handle an HP fill, period. I use a yoke on my HP 100s and you had better believe I don't get those things underfilled. I even had a conversation with the reg guy at zeagle on this exact subject a year or two ago and he said what I said above.
