Hi guys,
<DIV></DIV> <DIV>I'm a new diver and am in the market for a regulator. I've been reading message boards, and can't seem to figure out what to buy.</DIV> <DIV></DIV> <DIV>I've been to a few LDSs in the area, but they are distrubutors of 1 or 2 scuba brands, and so of course they're trying to push their product.</DIV> <DIV></DIV> <DIV>I'm interested in the Aqualung Legend, especially with the free octo deal going on. Any suggestions?</DIV> <DIV></DIV> <DIV>I've logged 3 dives in addition to my 4 PADI certification dives. I'm not too interested in local quarry diving, mainly on vacations to tropical locations.</DIV> <DIV></DIV> <DIV>Please adivse.</DIV> <DIV></DIV> <DIV>-johm</DIV> |

So many regs out there it makes your head spin. For what you looking for in the way your going to dive I wouldn't go spend lots of money. Now most reg do about the same. If you want look up scubalab.com they rate differant regs.Good luck you'll do fine on your choice

the Legend is a great reg, and with the free octo program it is a pretty good deal. Ertechsg makes a good point, though. If you'll only be diving once or twice a year on vacation you may not need a high performance reg like the Legeng. If your LDS is a Aqualung dealer, you may want to look at the Titan LX. It's a reliable, good breathing reg, and you would still get a free octo.

Larry sold me a TUSA 130 for $179 and told me that his brother (who I presumed he likes) dives the reg. It worked perfectly at 140 feet last week and it is about a year old (50 dives). If you aren't going to be doing extreme diving...it's a super reg at a super price. |

We enjoy our aqualung titans- solid as a rock and seems to breath well. Breathe a little damp if you plan on diving head down (i was taking pictures at the time) but other than that i've had nothing but great things to say about it. it's not to pricey either, and i think they're doing the free octo for the Titan as well. That said, we just got some Zeagle DS-V's (Thanks Scubatoys!) for our new doubles set-ups and enjoy them a lot!

Legends are good regs.
I'd stick to the top two vendors, like Aqualung and ScubaPro, if you plan to travel a lot. If anything ever happens while on vacation, those two are the most likely to find parts for, moreso than any others. Stateside you have more options for service, but on vacation, you're stuck with what's available. |

I don't know, the Sherwood Brut is a reg known world wide and probably the least likely of any reg to go south on you. Of course it's not the best reg out there but it is VERY popular with dive shops because of the abuse it can take and still function.
