If you end up going to Natural Springs, you should really enjoy it. Nice and easy diving and I've seen viz better than 25' in the past. Hope to see you around Tri-State sometime! ![]() |

seeing no one has posted to this thread in two day and this might not get read, i will still put in my 2 cents worth.
which is better zeagle or mares? neither they both have there good and bad points, and in todays market most any reg you get will perform i work at a shop that sells both mares and zeagle, and can look at the benefits of both to make this decision to disclaim some of the post here i will explain why mares regs are the way they are why no adjustment knob. they did not need to put an adjustment knob on the reg for two reasons. the DFC and the second stage cover. the cover is designed with a patented mesh grid that controls the flow of water across the diaphram. it makes the water flow alomost if not equal on all areas to keep it from free flowing in high current conditions. as for the DFC, it is why it has one LP port that is of different size. the DFC is a dynamic flow control. is use the same technology as a venturi assist does on a second stage. it help to produce more air flow to the diver, while minimizing the intermediate pressure drop in the first stage. when it gets to the second stage it goes through a tube on the side of the housing which acts as a venturi to help reduce the inhalation effort of the diver. as for zeagle i do own two FH7's a 50D and a razor. i do love the gear i have, but would not decline using the mares for any type of diving. |

It's ScubaToys my friend...just buy one of each. That's kind of what I did:
Zeagle Envoy Deluxe Mares Voltrex Hollis DC 212 I also have an Oceanic Alpha 8 which came with the original scuba package I bought from them. That one has been placed on a pony bottle. Throw in the Zeagle Rezort 1st stage I bought for pony bottle number 2 and I am up to 4 1/2 regs from them. Yikes!!! No wonder I'm broke this Christmas..... |
