Well... actually yes and no.Regulators made now (and a lot that were made in the past) are very dependable and perform their purpose (to regulate the pressure and deliver compressed air). So.... by saying "really sucks" if you mean would I be concerned if the regulator would perform its purpose most likely not. If you are asking what my personal choice would be... it would be that I would dive with whatever I want and you should do the same. The point of my OP still stands. There is only $30US difference in the regulators that were being discussed. Of course I will admit that I assumed the Atomic that would compare to the EOS would be the M1.

Atomic M1 over EOS
Originally I was going to get the EOS but I put a lot of reading, research, and forum trolling in and made the decision to go with the M1. Multiple reasons,
1. There is a lot more feedback off positive nature on the M1 2. Spoke with a couple of techs that work on regs and since they have worked on both recommended M1 3. Feedback on the reg deeper then 100' was fantastic on the M1 4. Resale value I will say after testing out the EOS and seeing it on action - it is a great rig ... just not the one for me. |

I could find a EOS for $600 which is a significant difference for 2 regs that are as close in performance as these are.
