The Flathead 7 breathes exactly the same as the Flathead VI
The only difference is a lighter first stage and a fraction smaller second stage, other than that they are the same. Value for money I would go the Flathead, cheaper to service and breathes like a dream. |

There is a write-up of the Flathead 7 in Sport Diver magazine 2009 buyers guide, but I think you'll get more honest opinions and better information from the people on this forum... do a search.
I just got the flathead 6, LOVE IT! Nothing that I can find to gripe about. Easy to breathe, dry, adjust knobs, small (but heavy) first stage, light second stage easy on the jaw. You can tell by looking carefully this is high quality craftsmanship, no junky/cheap bits at all! ![]() |

the new FH7 is lighter as mentioned above, but they have also changed the length of the yokenut and din adapter. so the older zeagle ones will not sit flush to the body if you swap parts between regs. the other diefference is the enviromental seal. it is now like the the one for the 50d as compared to the FH6. much eaiser to take apart then the FH6 was.
i have used both regs and dont find much difference in the way it breathes. they are both fine regulators to use, i just know all the 6's will be at a discounted price now. if you but this reg you will be happy and it will take care of you no matter what type of diving you do |
