Which reg?

Ok so i bought a used older dacor reg set on ebay for $170 with a nice dive computer. I guess they thought it was broken and sold it cheap but it needed a new battery.

Problem is i went diving twice with it and one of the regs is leaking. i opened it up and got some sand out from under the diaphram but it began leeking on my next dive again... not only did i waste like 500 psi getting like 30 yards out but i was panting hard from my troubles and couldnt breathe regularly. either way i still managed to get like 45 mins under at like 12-15 ft... a nice little shore dive.

but i'm ready to move onto something new that's not gonna stress me out and i know will be dependable.

the Dacor Trainer Pro seems like a good reg to me. price affordable and very dependable it seems.
it's not adjustable correct???
i'd like an adjustable one but i'm just not gonna spend the money right now.
i need a 1st stage also so...
what do you guys think?? Mares R2 Rebel at $134.95
http://www.scubatoys.com/store/detai...D=MaresR2Rebel
or
Dacor Trainer Pro at $174.95
http://www.scubatoys.com/store/detai...acorTrainerPro

i think the dacor's 1st stage seems a little better on positioning.. etc.

Have you thought of sending in your Reg to a certified tech and having it serviced? If your just wanting a new one at a low price thats also adjustable take a look at the TUSA RS-130, you will read alot of good things about it on here. Its $179.85 and then subtract your 10% discount and that should easily fall into the price range that your looking for plus its a quality reg.

Gotta agree with Shaggy on this one. I haven't used one myself, but have heard a lot of good things about the Tusa RS-130..Looks like it's in your price range too.

Larry has said there just isn't anything in it's price range that compares with it for features and performance..

Tusa does make a dang good product. I have a friend who owns an RS-130 and loves it to death.

Personally not a fan of Tusa regs, but my wife swears by them.

Have your current reg rebuilt (if possible... i know alot of the older Dacor stuff they dont sell rebuild kits for anymore. big snafu with that whole brand being really good, then drug into the dirt, then sold off after it was already a shell of a company...)

You might be able to find a shop that can still service it though.

it has been serviced, and then leaked, and went back, was fixed, and now leaks again!

i'm actually checking it out over here right now. the reason i'm leaning towards the dacor trainer pro is because i used my gf's very similar dacor eagle and it was the most comfortable reg i've breathed through yet... very comfortable underwater, it's like i don't have to worry about the reg at all... and that's out of maybe 6-8 diff regs i've tried (some in some out of water)
i saw the tusa but i'm still kinda a fan of that dacor trainer pro. plus it's 40% nitrox compatible and i'm looking into that in the not-so-near future.
