i own an atomic m1 primary and octo. i am planning to take nitrox diving in the near future. can i use this these for nitrox? are there any special care or precautions that i need to do before using these for nitrox? i dont know much about nitrox but from what i understand, it could help me stay underwater longer. i mainly dive in the philippines. i am in canada right now and have my regs here so that i can have it checked out since i know of no one who is a licenced service center in the philippines.

Yes, you can use the M1 with nitrox. This is from Atomic's website.
"Nitrox ready: Factory ready for Nitrox to 50%, or oxygen mixes up to 80% when special guidelines are followed." You won't be using anything more than 40% with your nitrox cert.

<DIV>You have probably heard rumors concerning atomic regs because of the titanium in the regs. Titanium does indeed react to O2, but it has to be in higher percentages than recreational nitrox. I've been diving Atomic regs on recreational nitrox with no damage to the regs for over 2 years, and even watcxhed the latest service on my reg. There was no internal damage even though that regprobably was used with nitrox on almost every dive.</DIV> <DIV></DIV> <DIV>OOOPS, didn't mean to quote you Joew. The quote should have been for the original poster.</DIV> |

<DIV>Yep. M stands for Monel which is a Nickel alloy this is highly resistant to oxygen fires at high pressure.</DIV> <DIV></DIV> <DIV> Quote:
